Vessel WH - Safety Management System Will Not Update
With the newer versions of the vessel wheelhouse, there is a common issue where the Safety Management System will not update.
Even deleting the Safety Management System PDF in the htdocs folder will not prevent the wheelhouse from being able to open the old version of the document.
This is because the file is cached and not overwritten during the update. So even replacing the file directly will not force it to display the right version.
This can be solved by clearing the browser cache for whichever browser is being used to open the wheelhouse.
To clear the browser cache in Google Chrome, go to chrome://history/ and on the left side, click "Clear browsing data"

In the next window, select the "Advanced" tab.
Select the dropdown for the time range and select "All time".
In this case, the browsing and download history do not need to be erased. Ensure that the boxes for "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are both checked. Then click "Clear data"

To clear the browser cache in Mozilla Firefox, click on the three horizontal lines in the top right of the Firefox window.
Then select "History", then "Clear Recent History"

In the window that opens, click on the dropdown for "Time range to clear" and select "Everything"
Then uncheck the boxes for "Browsing & download history", "Active logins", and "Form & search history". After this is done, click ok.

To clear the browser cache in Microsoft Edge, go to edge://history/all. At the top, click the trash can icon.
This will open the box to clear the browsing data. Uncheck the boxes for "Browsing history" and "Download history". After this, click "Clear now".

Once complete, the wheelhouse should display the correct version of the document.
